BNV : যাঁরা দাস, তারা নিজের নিজের মনিবদের যথায়োগ্য সম্মান করুক৷ তা করলে ঈশ্বরের দান এবং আমাদের শিক্ষার নিন্দা হবে না৷
KJV : Let as many servants as are under the yoke count their own masters worthy of all honour, that the name of God and [his] doctrine be not blasphemed.
YLT : As many as are servants under a yoke, their own masters worthy of all honour let them reckon, that the name of God and the teaching may not be evil spoken of;

BNV : য়ে সব দাসের মনিব বিশ্বাসী, তারা পরস্পর ভাই৷ তাই বলে দাসেরা সম্মানের দিক দিয়ে মনিব ভাইদের কোনভাবে তুচ্ছ না করুক, এবং সেইসব দাসেরা তাদের মনিবদের আরো ভাল করে সেবা করুক, কারণ যাঁরা উপকার পাচ্ছে তারাও বিশ্বাসী৷তুমি লোকদের এইসব অবশ্য শেখাবে ও সেই অনুসারে কাজ করতে উত্‌সাহ দেবে৷
KJV : And they that have believing masters, let them not despise [them,] because they are brethren; but rather do [them] service, because they are faithful and beloved, partakers of the benefit. These things teach and exhort.

ERVEN : Some slaves have masters who are believers, so they are brothers. Does this mean they should show their masters any less respect? No, they should serve them even better, because they are helping believers, people they should love. This is what you must teach and tell everyone to do.

BNV : কিছু লোক আছে যাঁরা অন্যরকম শিক্ষা দেয়; তারা আমাদের প্রভু যীশু খ্রীষ্টের সত্য শিক্ষার সঙ্গে একমত নয়, এবং য়ে শিক্ষা প্রকৃতপক্ষে ঈশ্বরের সেবার জন্য পথ দেখায় তা তারা গ্রহণ করে না৷
KJV : If any man teach otherwise, and consent not to wholesome words, [even] the words of our Lord Jesus Christ, and to the doctrine which is according to godliness;

BNV : য়ে ব্যক্তির শিক্ষা ভ্রান্ত, সে গর্বে পরিপূর্ণ ও অজ্ঞ৷ সে নিছক কথা নিয়ে রাগ ও তর্কাতর্কি করতে ভালবাসে৷ এটাই তার অসুস্থতা, যার ফলশ্রুতি হল ঈর্ষা, ঝগড়া, পরনিন্দা ও কুসন্দেহ৷
KJV : He is proud, knowing nothing, but doting about questions and strifes of words, whereof cometh envy, strife, railings, evil surmisings,

BNV : এইসব লোকদের কাছ থেকে শুধু ঝগড়া শোনা যায়, এরা দুর্নীতিগ্রস্ত মনের মানুষ এবং সত্যকে হারিয়েছে৷ তারা মনে করে য়ে ঈশ্বরের সেবা করা ধনী হবার এক উপায়৷
KJV : Perverse disputings of men of corrupt minds, and destitute of the truth, supposing that gain is godliness: from such withdraw thyself.

BNV : একথা সত্যি য়ে ঈশ্বরের সেবার ফলে মানুষ মহাধনী হতে পারে, যদি তার কাছে যা আছে তাতেই সে সন্তষ্ট থাকে৷
KJV : But godliness with contentment is great gain.
YLT : but it is great gain -- the piety with contentment;

BNV : তাই অন্ন বস্ত্রের সংস্থান পেলে আমরা তাতেই সন্তষ্ট থাকব৷

BNV : কিন্তুযাদের ধনী হবার ইচ্ছা, তারা প্রলোভনে এবং ফাঁদে পড়ে নানারকম মূর্খামির কাজে ও ক্ষতিকর বাসনায় পড়ে যা তাদের ধ্বংস ও বিনাশের পথে ঠেলে দেয়৷
KJV : But they that will be rich fall into temptation and a snare, and [into] many foolish and hurtful lusts, which drown men in destruction and perdition.

BNV : কারণ সকল মন্দের মূলে আছে অর্থের প্রতি আসক্তি৷ সেই অর্থের লালসায় কত লোক বিশ্বাস থেকে দূরে সরে গেছে; আর তার ফলে তারা নিজেদের জীবনে অনেক অনেক দুঃখ ব্যথা ডেকে এনেছে৷
KJV : For the love of money is the root of all evil: which while some coveted after, they have erred from the faith, and pierced themselves through with many sorrows.

BNV : কিন্তু তুমি ঈশ্বরের লোক, তাই এই সব থেকে তুমি দূরে থেকো৷ সত্য পথে চলতে চেষ্টা কর, ঈশ্বরের সেবা কর, বিশ্বাস, ভালবাসা, ধৈর্য্য ও নম্রতা এইসবের জন্য চেষ্টা কর৷
KJV : But thou, O man of God, flee these things; and follow after righteousness, godliness, faith, love, patience, meekness.

BNV : বিশ্বাস রক্ষা করার দৌড়ে জয়লাভ করতে প্রাণপন চেষ্টা কর৷ য়ে জীবন চিরায়ত তা পাবার বিষয়ে সুনিশ্চিত হও৷ তুমি সেই জীবন গ্রহণ করার জন্য আহুত৷
KJV : Fight the good fight of faith, lay hold on eternal life, whereunto thou art also called, and hast professed a good profession before many witnesses.

BNV : অনেক সাক্ষীর সামনে এবং সেই যীশু খ্রীষ্টের সামনে আমি তোমাকে এই আদেশ করছি, পন্তীয় পীলাতের সামনে যীশুও সেই মহান সত্যের পক্ষে নির্ভীক স্বীকারোক্তি দিয়েছিলেন৷

BNV : যাঁরা এই যুগে ধনী, তাদের এই আদেশ দাও, য়েন তারা গর্ব না করে৷ সেই ধনীদের বলো তারা য়েন অনিশ্চিত সম্পদের ওপর আস্থা না রাখে৷ কিন্তু ঈশ্বরের ওপর নির্ভর করুক, যিনি আমাদের উদার হাতে সব কিছু ভোগ করতে দিয়েছেন৷ ধনীদের বল তারা য়েন সত্ কর্ম করে৷
KJV : Charge them that are rich in this world, that they be not highminded, nor trust in uncertain riches, but in the living God, who giveth us richly all things to enjoy;
YLT : Those rich in the present age charge thou not to be high-minded, nor to hope in the uncertainty of riches, but in the living God, who is giving to us all things richly for enjoyment; --

BNV : তারা য়েন সত্ কাজ রূপ ধনে ধনী হয়ে ওঠে, তাদের উদার হতে ও সম্পদ ভাগ করে নিতে প্রস্তুত হতেবল৷

BNV : শোন তীমথিয়, তোমার ওপর ঈশ্বর য়ে ভার দিয়েছেন তা সযত্নে রক্ষা কর৷ যা তথাকথিত পাণ্ডিত্য নামে পরিচিত, সেই মূর্খ অসার কথা- বার্তার ও তর্কের মধ্যে য়েও না৷
KJV : O Timothy, keep that which is committed to thy trust, avoiding profane [and] vain babblings, and oppositions of science falsely so called:
YLT : O Timotheus, the thing entrusted guard thou, avoiding the profane vain-words and opposition of the falsely-named knowledge,

BNV : কেউ কেউ জীবনে ঐ জ্ঞানের দাবি করে৷ ঐসব লোক বিশ্বাস থেকে দূরে সরে গেছে৷ঈশ্বরের অনুগ্রহ তোমাদের ওপর থাকুক৷
KJV : Which some professing have erred concerning the faith. Grace be with thee. Amen.
